서울올림픽 국제학술회의의 특징은 5개의 분과로 나뉘어 회의를 진행했다는 점인데 <가족>, <커뮤니케이션>, <윤리 가치관>, <동서문화>, <자연> 분과가 그것이다. 각 분과별 회의를 거쳐 9월 7일 ~ 8일 종합토론이 이루어졌다.
